The involvement of EoE in the Dominican Republic (DR) project took place in the form of organizational development. Our consultants conducted an assessment and assisted El Instituto Técnico de Estudios Superiores en El Media Ambiente y Recursos Naturales en Jarabacoa. The institute objectives were to become an accredited institution recognized nationally and internationally, to qualify technicians to meet the country’s demands for expertise in natural resource management. The project focused on improving the economic livelihoods of individuals, communities and organizations in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
EoE was able to develop a strategic plan for accreditation. The project galvanized the shared vision and commitment to helping the DR and Haiti reclaim their natural resources through a series of 29 interviews which included senior government elected representatives. The project facilitated a more open and consistent dialogue between staff and the institute’s director as well as making recommendations available for the involvement of future consultants on the project.
